My first Krueger book and I will definitely be back for more. This one took me a bit to get into but after a third of the book, it took off and I was totally immersed in the story.

It starts out with the death of landowner, Jimmy Quinn. At first it is unclear whether it is a suicide or murder. Once it is determined that it was a homicide, the most difficult part is figuring out who did it as he wasn't a well-liked person. This seems the tale that this story is going to tell at first. But it gets more in depth when other characters and their stories get involved. It really adds so much more and makes the book totally endearing.
