This is the second book in the Judd Ryder and Eva Blake series. Although I really liked this book I felt like it didn't match up to the the first book, The Book of Spies.

Six master assassins, each a legend in the dark corners of international espionage, banded together to steal a fortune in the midst of a war zone. But the mission went tragically wrong, and they retreated into the shadows; until now;

Judd and Eva are looking for an infamous Cold War assassin: Code name, the Carnivore. They search from D.C. all the way to Baghdad, where they launch a final battle against the six master assassins; in a death match for Saddam Hussein's long-missing billion-dollar fortune. And Judd and Eva are caught in the crossfire...

The plot is a good one and kept the pages turning and the characters were very interesting especially the characters of Judd Ryder and Eva Blake. I hope that Gayle Lynds will write more novels featuring these 2 characters because they really go together well.
