Disclaimer right up front: I didn't finish this. I heard about this book as a good gardening mystery (apparently it's also a Christian mystery). The book opens with Regan Culver waiting to be arrested for the poisoning murder of her father. Only she had access to the poisoned tea he drank, and she knew exactly what potion to brew. I love these kinds of puzzles and wanted to see where the author went with that, but before 50 pages were gone Regan came across to me as a complete doormat, unable to object to any abuse from her siblings or others, placidly waiting for things to happen to her, and figuring that whatever it is God will take care of it without action on her part. I'm not a big fan of blood and gore in what I read, but I like some backbone in the characters. And then there were the time shifts - I don't insist on a linear plot line, but there seemed to be a lot of flashbacks between several different times. Maybe I quit too soon, but life is short and my TBR stack is pretty big. But there are several in the series so it looks like the author is finding her niche.
