This book is mostly told by the "heroine" Anne. You read what she has written in her diary and this is how the author tells this story. I usually do not like these kinds of stories, but this one is really good. Anne's diary is not the main part of this story, but it does tell you her thoughts and feelings as this story progresses. Her husband Geoffrey is an absolute jerk. You just want to smack him. Then you learn why he is the way he is and in the end what he does kind of redeems him for me.
As for Christy, you can't help but really like this man. He's strong and kind and is everything Anne has always wanted.
I had not read anything from this author before this book, and I will be reading the rest of her novels.
