Faith Duffy has done a lot in her thirty years. First she was a stripper, then a Playboy model, then a trophy wife. Now her elderly husband has died and left her a professional hockey team. Not wanting to sell the team to her stepson who treats her like dirt, Faith hires competent employees to help her with the day to day operations. Ty Savage is the new team captain. He came to Seattle to win the Stanley Cup and doesn't want the new owner to screw up his chances. Faith and Ty dislike each other immediately, but sparks fly when they are forced to work together.

If you've read "It Had to be You" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, this plot should sound familiar. Rachel Gibson gives us a fun book with likeable characters. Faith is a straight forward person who doesn't apologize for her past. Ty is a surly jock who sees Faith as an obstacle in his path to winning the cup. I loved both of them from the beginning and enjoyed seeing how they're feelings for each other change over the course of the book. I loved the hockey aspect of the story since hockey is my favorite sport. But there are a few jarring mistakes in the story (3 minute penalites?) that will make any hockey fan roll their eyes. My rating: 4 Stars.
