In an effort to give us the unusual, the authors have stepped off the deep end into the absurd. They actually suggest embroidering toilet paper and soap for decorative effects. Personally, if I want to decorate a bathroom, I would be much more inclined to do it with an embroidered towel, TP cover or picture and skip the technically challenging and stupid TP embroidery.
The designs included tend to the silly, cute or quilting inspired. Some are included for basic effects, like the chenille (I could do this faster and easier just straight stitching on the machine, especially as it is for a block 3.86" square) and the quilt piecing design that is used like paper piecing (not useful unless you can't sew a straight marked line). Many of the ideas seem more like an excuse to use the embroidery machine in a new way and end up being a convoluted method where the end could be achieved easier by simpler means.
There are a few fun ideas--stitching note cards might actually be interesting, if a little silly. Metal punching might work out. There is also some good information on specialized threads, stabilizers and other supplies that are available.
All of the projects that appealed to me required the purchase of designs.
Definitely "Wild" & often "Wacky"
