It was payback time for legendary lady-killer U.S. Marine Captain Sam Wilder...and newly blond and buffed journalist Cassandra Jones was just the woman to deliver it! True, she'd rather chew glass than get her story by spending weeks glued--24/7--to the chiseled, charming American hero. After all, sexy Sam wouldn't waste a wink on the real brunette, bespectacled "Cassie", yet he played shinking knight for whiplash-blonde "Cassandra". Worse, the closer the dazzling marine advanced--the more Cassie learned of Sam's sould--the less she wanted to retreat.

Did gentlement truly prefer blondes? Or was there more to the story? Might this warrior be the one to slash away the thorns around Cassie's heart...and awaken her to love?
