I too really enjoyed the Historian so I was excited to read this book. The characters were not sufficiently "fleshed out" enough for me to really care about their lives or motivations(which weren't always clear). It was fine as a vacation read but I was thrilled to finish it so I no longer had to lug it around. I purposely left in on a train in Italy :)
