No Greater Pleasure (Order of Solace, Bk 2)

I read this book in three days. This is very different from the usual Megan Hart books set in contemporary times. The plot is similar to Jane Eyre though No Greater Pleasure is set in a medieval time in another world with a different religion.

Tranquilla Caden, the heroine, may seem like a doormat at first, but she has an inner strength that few of us possess. Where some may have seen her as weak, I saw her as strong. Lord Gabriel Delessan, the hero is your typical brooding, troubled male who is a good soul despite the misfortunes in his life. I didn't find the heroine a glutton for punishment. She has a placid nature but she stands up for herself when she needs to. The last chapter was wonderful in how the story came full circle.

I don't know why this is classified as erotic. It really isn't an erotic story. The graphic scenes are very few and not as detailed as things in Hart's other books. However, this story like all of Hart's stories that I've read isn't predictable and clear cut. There's ambiguity. Isn't that how life is? I love the way Hart writes. Her books make me think about the characters long after the story is over.
