I love the Biggest Loser brand. In this book, TV show trainers Bob and Jillian and contestants from all previous seasons share their favorite recipes, healthful eating tips and diet advice.

This is not a new formula. However, what I like about this diet guide as opposed to others I've read is the recipes in the Biggest Loser Family Cookbook are tailored for families, meaning they are affordable, palatable and familiar. It's refreshing to find a book full of recipes that don't call for numerous, super-pricey organic ingredients. But its a godsend to find a book of healthy, calorie-conscious meals my kids and non-dieting husband won't groan about.

I also thought tips like the staple favorites of the contestants were a great addition to the recipes. I'm not always looking for a "recipe" -- just a quick meal solution. Like, tuna salad on celery sticks. I wouldn't have thought of that. But it's an easy substitution that emerged from other dieters' practical experience.

I checked this guide out from the library, but I've already added it to my bookstore wish list. It's just too good not to add to my cookbook collection.
