An old country doctor passed away under odd circumstances and left only his daughter with the secrets of his trade. The village now depends on its lady-doctor for its births, deaths, and all the inconveniences in between. His daughter begins to investigate his death and puts herself at odds with the law and uncovers secrets more startling than the dead man's state of dress.
