I can't really understand the attraction for this book. It took me awhile to make it through the story. When the people at work ask me about it I describe it this way: the guy babbles on for a chapter, then the girl babbles on for a chapter. So it is not a book I feel I can recommend. Oh, I am sure there are some people who like it. It seems like a study in how a couple of people get attracted to each other, get married, and then, slowly, over time the marriage falls apart. The wife goes a little crazy (maybe a lot crazy). I have read a lot of other books that I liked a lot better than this one.
I almost stopped reading it after about 150 pages. I tried to like it. Finally I started skimming the last few chapters to see how the whole drama was resolved (this is something I never do). Then I struggled to go back and read from where I left off.... I had to figure out what the attraction was for this book. In the end I still didn't like it.
