Boyett writes to a teenage crowd and writes in a casual style. The advice was Biblical in a sense but failed to utilize opportunities to share specific scripture verses. For instance, there could be a chapter about "wisdom" and Boyett would talk about how important this is in a guys life, but failed to cite scripture. This book is like a conversation with a Christian guy that knows there are some "good" things the Bible tells us to base our life off, but doesn't offer Biblical foundation to follow. Too much of the book is a Christian Guy's opinion on life and not a Biblical worldview.
