Ivan Kerikov, ex-leader of the KCG's secret science division, has joined forces with a renegrade Arab oil minister to control the supply of oil to the U.S. They plan to mount a coup in the minister's home country, blow up the Alaska Pipeline, and crash a fully loaded supertanker in the middle of San Francisco Bay. They're helped by Aggie Johnson, the beautiful daughter of a petrochemical magnate, who feeds company secrets to the eco-terrorists. But Kerikov hasn't accounted for geologist Philip Mercer. Mercer knows all the right people in all the right places... or is it all the wrong people in all the wrong places? And he's not about to let Kerikov cripple the U.S. politically, economically, and environmentally. Can one man stop an army? If that man is Philip Mercer... the odds are in the Free World's favor.
