I read this a number of years ago but didn't keep it in my library.
Two years ago I became acquainted with Catherine Cookson's work
through her movies. I remembered this book then not realizing it was
one of hers and began trying to find it without success.
Last month I went to the library to get some of Cookson's books and was
thrilled when I opened the fly leaf and began to read. It was the book I had been searching for.
Alison Read is taken in by her guardian Paul Aylmer when she is orphaned. She learns the antique trade well as she grows up and falls in love with Paul. The age difference...a lost love interest and surprising twists and turns
throw up roadblocks for Alison. Will he return her love or get another chance with the woman he once loved?
It's another great book from Catherine Cookson that now graces my library.
