I own 16 Matt Scudder books and while I can't put my finger on exactly which of them this relates to I have this clear picture of "his friend Jan" dying and willing her Medusa sculpture to him and he and his wife Elaine discussing same. So how can this "new" Matt Scudder book involve Matt's contemplating a renewal of his relationship with Jan? Something's rotten here...
