This is really two novellas in one volume. Both of these authors are experienced at clearly drawing their characters giving the reader a picture of their lives.
I like the first story quite a bit, but the second one seemed to end rather abruptly. Like maybe their first version had a couple more chapters that were edited down to cut costs or something.
