This is a well-done investigation of a brutal story. I'm embarrassed to admit how little I knew about the "troubles" which happened during my lifetime. It was a book group selection and not something I would have chosen for myself. I'm glad I heard the stories of the people in these incidents, but please know that there is a lot of trauma involved (acts of terrorism, hunger strikes, blanket protests, forced feedings, eating disorders, alcoholism, child abuse, people being disappeared, PTSD, isolation and regret). It raises really thought- provoking questions about who decides who is a terrorist vs a freedom fighter.
