Immediately grabbed my attention and held it all the way through. I enjoyed the main character and the sub-characters, although one of the characters - the "sensitivity director" - didn't make a whole lot of sense. Who hired this idiot? I'm curious as to his fate in future books because he clearly doesn't fit, except as a foil for the heroine and other virtuous players. Interesting information about the White House and of course about the White House kitchen and cooking for the First Family and their guests. The plot and subplots were as convoluted as I like them, and while I sort of figured out who the villain was, it really was a surprise when revealed. Well done! I want to read more of Julie Hyzy's work.
