Colonel Lord Aidan Bedwyn honors a dying soldier's request of protection for his sister by marrying her to ensure that she may keep her family home. Eve had no one else to turn to, so she agreed to a marriage in name only. But when Aidan's family hears about his new bride, their business arrangement begins to change into a real marriage.
As with most of Mary Balogh's stories, the relationship builds slowly. Aidan is transformed from a cold miliary officer to a man who is willing to give a part of himself to his new family. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.
