Hero, Harry, falls in love with Mariah, at first sight, while attending her parent's ball as Lord Wroth. He's a spy masquerading as others to protect or spy on several prominent people in the British government, including Mariah's father. Harry climbs into Mariah's window at night to talk with her -- but he always stays in the shadows. Mariah is falling in love with the only man that intrigues her -- her shadow man.

Kisses and touching mid way through, explicit love-making comes near the end of the book. There is a mystery too.

I like a book where both the hero and heroine are obviously falling in love. I got caught up in Mariah's search for her "lover." Also, I couldn't put it down and wanted to call in sick to stay home in order to finish the book. I don't get that feeling about many books.
