There was some interesting anecdotal information provided regarding the possibilities and probabilities of Jesus' death being staged and his life continuing after the crucifixion as well as his marriage to Mary Magdalene. The author came across to me as being very sincere and believable, maintaining a humble and pragmatic approach to his information as opposed to engaging in propaganda or wild controversies. However, it was somewhat disappointing to learn that the information contained within the "Jesus Papers" themselves were and still are, unavailable. Unfortunately, the alleged contents of the Jesus Papers is primarily heresy since they are still in the private possession of a certain individual who has not released these papers for scholarly and scientific review and study. The politics involved are quite complex.
Probably the most interesting points in the book for me was the information pertaining to the great lengths that the Catholic Church resorts to in order to cover-up, control, suppress, and distort information which would contradict their stubborn tenets and dogmas. Not that that alone is anything new or a surprise, but specifics were discussed particularly regarding the Nag Hammadi texts (Dead Sea Scrolls) and other missing gospels and writings hidden or unacknowledged by the Vatican.
