This is the 4th of what has been a remarkable series. While this one is okay as a stand-alone, there are a lot of references as to what has happened since the first book of the series, Carved In Darkness.

Sabrina Vaughn is a former homicide investigator, living with Michael O'Shea, a former hit man. Strange bedfellows ... but it works for them. They have staged their own deaths and only 2 or 3 people know the truth. They are happy together and it's a life she never dreamed would be possible.

When 20-year-old forensic evidence connects Sabrina to several murders, she knows she's going to have to return to the place where she had been raped and tortured and held captive for many, many days.

Sabrina goes after a ruthless murderer who has no conscience, no remorse and only wants to get his hands on her..again.

As stated previously, you really want to start at the beginning. It's been interesting seeing how Sabrina how survived and become a much stronger person than she ever thought possible. Michael will do anything in his power to protect her. But this time around, he is powerless to do so.

Very suspenseful, surprising secondary characters, bodies that keep piling up. Highly recommended.
