While Milburne attempted to give readers a story about a damaged heroine who finds her HEA, I struggled to like her even when her past traumas were revealed. If I'm going to invest my time in reading a romance, I want to like the characters. Aisha's story failed to grab me. I almost didn't finish the book. I didn't quite get why James, the hero, even cared about her. She was horrible to him!
