At first I thought this was a YA book, but changed my mind while reading it. Despite 172 pages, you can read it all in one sitting, as it is so enjoyable.

Four brothers and sisters, who don't get along well, are annoyed their parents are leaving them for the summer in the care of an old aunt in the highlands of Scotland. They have no idea how their lives are going to change. They are about to experience just how valuable personal relationships are, and what the past and future of the world might hold. Published in 1977, part of this book addresses concerns we have today in 2024. I would tell you more, but I don't want to spoil it for the next reader.

You know how some books still stay in your mind years after you've read them. I think this one will be one of those for me.
