This is a teacher's guide to a great novel by a great author, Sid Flieschman, set during the California Gold Rush. This is a unit study approach where each set of chapters has comprehension question, a group activity (most of which can also be done alone), a hands on project, a science, geography, music or math activity and a few other activities. We loved reading this novel which was about relationships and what makes a family.
