This was a great read!!! I had been quite bored with Brenda Jackson's "formulaic prose" especially since she likes to weave the family tree throughout her books to the point where I could not keep up with all of them. I loved the characters in this book and I really felt compassion for Walker because of the losses he endured. Ms. Jackson showed that the "right kind of love" is restorative to a broken spirit. I was surprised mainly by Bailey's maturity level especially since reading about her behavior in her siblings' and cousins' stories. It suspenseful because Bailey did something that really was unexpected by me. She is definitely not the young Bailey anymore and I was too glad to read her story.
