I FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE. I WAS PROBABLY MORE INTERESTED IN IT THEN MANY SINCE I LIVE IN THE VICINITY WHERE ELIZABETH KECKLEY WAS BORN AND RAISED BEFORE SHE BECAME A FRIEND OF MARY LINCOLN.I WAS IMPRESSED WITH MRS. KECKLEY'S BUSINESS SKILLS AND HER ABILITY TO SUCCEED IN A WORLD RUN BY MEN.HER STORY REVEALS THE STRENGTH THAT ALLOWED HER TO BECOME AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS WOMAN,AS WELL AS GAINING HER OWN FREEDOM.A BOOK THAT SHOWS HOW ONE WOMAN MET THE STRUGGLES OF SLAVERY AND EARNED RESPECT FROM HER PEERS AND ASSOCIATES.
