It must come down to what you're used to reading. This wasn't that edgy for chick porn. There is a lot more talk than action about spanking and bondage. The writing was simplistic but not awful. Knowing that the book is somewhat of a sendup of Twilight, I actually thought the writing was clever and well done. Even James's writing style is really a parody of Stephanie Meyers. Other reviewers complain about the repetitiveness of action and dialogue, same complaints can be made of Twilight. The similarities are subtle but the whole book tracks with Twilight. It was fun to look for James's interpretation of elements of Bella and Edward. I thought she made Ana more interesting than Bella.
An easy to read sexy book.
