If you like Stephanie Plum, and if you liked My Big Fat Greek Wedding, you'll like Sofie Metropolis. She is a young Greek-American woman living in Astoria, NY, working as a sometimes P.I. for her Uncle Kosmos' Detective Agency. The book has a lot of humorous Greek cultural references, which is why I wanted to read it. The plot is a little vague and far-fetched. Sofie was jilted at the altar by her two timing Greek fiancee, who was caught in flagrante delicto in the church with the maid of honor. Oopsies...not a good thing for a Greek bride. While there are some truly funny observations, the book fails to deliver on a riveting plot. It took me a long time to finish the book, because it just didn't really hold my interest too steadily.
