Where to begin to describe how much I disliked this book? Normally I don't bother finishing books that are so disappointing, but I wanted to be able to write a scathing review of the whole thing, so I plowed through to the end. The heroine is quite a ninny (and even admits that her actions defy belief herself.) The "action" takes place mostly in apartments and hotels in New York, and bodies drop left and right. Yet there is no tension and really no mystery involved. The writing is strange and in the beginning I had to reread some sentences to see what the author was trying to say (later on I skimmed so much that it was not an issue.) Not recommended for anyone except those marooned on a desert island with nothing else to read (and then, use it to start a signal fire instead.)
