When I first started reading this book I thought oh no! This woman is a total flake. I forced myself to continue reading and am glad I did! A wonderful true story of a woman who goes to Africa with her European boyfriend, ends up falling in love with a Masai warrior and decides to remain in Africa with him. Great inside view of every day life in the rural bush in Africa including the day to day hardships to just survive, the culture of the Masai people as well as other African tribes. I was sad when I came to the end of the book because I wanted to learn more about what happened to Corinne and her daughter. I was THRILLED to learn there are 2 follow up books "Back From Africa" and "Reunion in Barsaloi" where Hofmann finishes her story! A must read for all interested in adventurous women, African culture and rural living in Africa.
