The last book I read in this series was "Master of Smoke," which comes after this one. Otherwise it has been a while.
I liked this one quite a bit. I think for a while there it was the same premise over and over again. This one is slightly different in that both protagonists are aware of the paranormal world.
You do have to read at least one other book in the series to understand who and what everything is. Even what I write in this review will make any sense if you aren't familiar with the series.
I think the back-cover description is rather generic so I am including my own here. Logan is Arthur's son and is scared to become a vampire. His fear is that he would lose control and Arthur would have to kill him. Giada was sent to secretly guard him since there are baddies out there killing latents. She was ordered not to become involved with Logan and of course they get it on or else this would be a poor romance novel. So amidst all that they have to find the baddies and figure out what is going on.
It's a pretty fast paced book with some humor. The love scenes can be redundant in description although the when, where, and how are different. Overall it was a good read.
