While maybe not as good as the first book in this trilogy, it still had me picking it up to follow the adventures of the two sisters. I'm a Civil War nut and this series takes place during the early years of that conflict.
Although book two in this series is titled "Brothers of Cain," the major protagonists in this book are still the two Llyr sisters.
Ms. Monfredo is one of my favorite historical novelists of 18th century America. Her "Senaca Falls" mysteries were captivating. as they seamlessly blended her plots in with historical events. And most of her major protagonists are strong women.
