I never would have chosen this book for myself, but I received it as a gift and ended up truly enjoying it. It's about the victims of a serial killer, but not the gore or the interior life of the killer. It's actually more of a commentary on how difficult it is for young women to find their way with all the mixed messages they are given by society. "The world was always conspiring to make young women vulnerable while labeling it as 'fun.'" The writing is beautiful and the way Atlantic City is evoked is impressive. I did not anticipate several of the twists.
