A very quiet horror story, reminiscent of Ira Levin's Rosemary's Baby without the witches. It seems like a modern bad marriage tale from the 2000's, but this story was set in the late 1960's. We follow the life of Irene, her marriage to Frank, the birth of their daughter Regina. Through the years, Frank become more controlling. I was drawn in hook, line and sinker in one night and totally creeped out at the end of the story when the twist gets forcefully shoved into your face. Highly recommended for those who like psychological horrors and thrillers.
