I find it interesting how varied the reviews of this anthology are here on PBS. That in itself means there's something for everybody, right? I think it's a very good collection and definitely worth reading.

The Charlaine Harris story was the weakest, imho. It was a bit of a mess - like a casserole with too many different spices. With less extraneous detail, the story would have had more forward momentum and cohesion. Interesting characters and world-building but left me cold.

Nalini Singh's story was my favorite. I really enjoy her Archangel series and this story filled in Sara and Deacon's back story which I've always been curious about. Worth the price of the whole book.

Ilona Andrews, again a good story. I have read the first in her Kate Daniels series and the story is about two secondary characters, so the world in which the story is set is familiar and the hints dropped about the main characters whetted my appetite to read more of the series novels. If you haven't read any, you won't be lost - read this and then read her novels.

Meljean Brooks - what a great story! I've been meaning to read her novels and now I absolutely have to. Fantastic paranormals, wry humor, slow burn romance..what's not to like?
