In this third and final book in the Sleeping Beauty Series, Rice takes you along with Princess Beauty after she is kidnapped once more to be forced into more sexual servitude. We see that even in this new and strange environment Beauty struggles between her willingness to please and her desire to revolt. But in the midst of all of her inner turmoil, she finds a plight more needing of her attention. Beautifully well written with careful detail shown to the acts being carried out, without being lurid or vulgar. In this book the B/D relationship is overshadowed by something greater. A must read ending to a fantastic trilogy. Rice does a beautiful job of rewriting a classic fairy tale for adult readers wishing to tackle their own inhibitions.
The issue of Beauty's menstrual cycle arose in a review of book 2, to which I say this - suspension of disbelief. It is, after all, fantasy.
Not for the faint of heart or anyone not comfortable with their own sexuality or desires. Strongly suggested to read the books in their correct order.
