Lexi & Slash are engaged and are throwing a party in their new home. Argh...Lexi the introvert is having palpitations about having people over and having to entertain them, especially her overbearing mother. A little fireworks is just what is needed but not in the way it happens. A threatening message to Slash and another to Lexi sends Slash on his own to Italy to the vatican to get some answers. Lexi is being pulled in different directions not knowing a lot about Slash's secret past with the vatican and his current job with the NSA. She knows all about secrets but will these ones tear them apart? Traveling to Italy to support her fiance brings more danger to the both of them while trying to foil a vatican plot against the pope that involves Slash and long ago buried history. Along the way they are still looking for information on Slash's birth parents. A shady cardinal and forces that make every decision a dangerous one has them both rethinking the "till death do us part"
