With the prevalence of eating disorders in Australia and New Zealand, this title is profoundly unsettling. The focus of the story is Mum's distorted body image and her inappropriate efforts to diet. The message in this story is completely inappropriate and whilst I feel sure that the author would not have intended the book to have such a negative impact, it clearly has the potential to do so. I would urge the removal of this title from the Sunshine Book series and would not recommend that anyone concerned with ensuring their children develop a positive and sensible approach to body-image should purchase this book.
