Because of the title of this book, (I like sea glass) I wanted this book to be a favorite and one I would read again. It started out good, main character Nora, has a cheating successful lawyer husband who she finds out is cheating. She is unhappy and takes her daughters to a childhood summer place to enjoy summer in peace. She meets her Aunt, whom she has not seen, for reasons she doens't know, since she was about 5 years old. Then a mysterious guy 'washes' up on the beach. It is at this point the story gets a bit silly. The townspeople don't like her and feel she has no place there especially a particular lady who is creepy. Her oldest daughter, Ella is 12 and going through puberty and out of control for a pre-teen. Small insignificant stories dragged out in detail and were not interesting to read nor significant to the story. Ella constantly whines that her mother needs to return home, but why and to what? Her husband who doesn't seem to want a family anymore? And then, with no warning, just more boring details, the story was over... And to be quite frank, I'm not completely sure what happened. I borrowed the book from someone who didn't like it either and we both felt confused and missed the book's point entirely.
