I bought this book used at a college bookstore, thinking it would be insightful. It wasn't! I was bored while reading this book. It does have a lot of numbers and facts about race and student populations in schools. Overall, if I were to review this book, I would have to say that it is hypocracy at its best. The author trys to make you feel guilty about the way schools are run in the United States, and gives the impression that people do not do enough to change things. In reallity all he has done is write a couple of books. This is not the only issue that he has written about. You know what I am gonna do? I am going to find some hot topic and right a book about it, then say the American people don't do enough to change things, then I will set back and collect the money I have made from selling my book, and Pretend that I care.

Yes this book brings real facts to light, yes this book made me think of the way schools can be changed, and Yes i think this book could be used in a college course on apartheid; but other than that, This book would be best at replacing the worn coasters under the table at my local pub.

Sorry I just didnt like it.
