While the story was simple (less than 5 characters), the plot and writing was totally boring and unoriginal. Boy meets girl and within 20 pages, all the world is butterflies and bluebells and lovey-dovey forever. There is no fire between the main characters and they speak to one another with the sappiest dialogue I have ever read in an adult book. The story includes such sugary sweet sentiments as:

" Surely forgiveness is a tenant of creating peace in our world. If we forgive one another, how can there be revenge? The belief in 'an eye for an eye' would disappear forever. That would be lovely, wouldn't it?

"Yes, it would" said Calen.

I am disappointed that Nocturne would choose this book as the first in its series.
