A story about the broken. Those souls that had something in their life shatter them in some way. Every single character in this book is fragmented and have their own flaws. And yet they all handle their messed up lives in their own way. This story centers around Margo. She lives in a house that is cursed and bears no love. Her mother used to be a good mother up until Margo was 8. From that time her mother was less caring and only spat out orders for what Margo needed to do. Strange men would come to the house at all hours. Now at the age of 16, her mother hasn't even spoken to her in 2 years. Margo finds solace in a neighborhood boy who is broken in his own way. When a missing girl that Margo knows ends up murdered, they both look into it. What she finds causes her to seek justice in any form possible.
This is a story about a girl who is tired of seeing the wrong in the world and sets out to make it right. This story was sad and brutal. Definitely not for the faint of heart. It was also a story of finding yourself and seeing that everyone has a story. This book got a little weird there for awhile and I'm still not sure what happened but that just made the book even more special for me. This is my 2nd Tarryn Fisher book and excited to read more.
