While Amy Masters lived amongst the Comanche with Loretta (book 1), she became betrothed to Swift Antelope, a young warrior. Swift promised to come for Amy but 15 years passed while Swift was fighting for survival.
Now Amy is grown and a teacher in Oregon, living near Loretta and Hunter Wolf. When Swift (now called Swift Lopez) travels 2000 miles to see his old friend, he is surprised to find Amy alive. During these years, Swift has become a gunfighter and a member of a Comanchero band. Now, he wants to hang up his guns and start over -- with Amy. But Amy has been reading newspaper reports about Swift's terrible deeds and wants no part of him.
Thus starts a fascinating tale that is as interesting as the first book. This is a great series.
