In 1904 Samantha Parkington, an orphan lives with her grandmother rich Grandmary. Samantha thinks everyone has what it takes to be a rich and fashionable young lady until she meets Nellie- a servant girl who moves in next door. Samantha is determined to help Nellie. Samantha is told that being friends with servants is not proper. Samantha then meets the compassionate Cornelia Uncle Gard's lady friend and discovers there is more than one Way to be a lady.A lady may be kind and compassionate too.
