Twenty years ago, Black Dagger warrior Murhder killed several human scientists who were experimenting on vampires. One female was pregnant and lock in a cage. Murhder tried to rescue her but was unsuccessful. For his actions in killing several humans, he was deemed insane and expelled from the brotherhood. Now he has received a message from the woman he failed to rescue. She escaped but her son is still in captivity. She is asking Murhder to find him. Murhder knows he must approach the Brotherhood for help.

Research Scientist Sarah Watkins has worked for Biomed Labs for several years. When she runs across some strange test results that show the lab may be experimenting by injecting various diseases into patients, she knows she has to get to the bottom of this. While sneaking into the high-security section of the lab at night, Sarah rescues a boy who is one of those patients. She also runs into Murhder who is on a mission to save this boy.

This is an excellent addition to the long running Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The primary story is about Murhder and his redemption after being kicked out of the Brotherhood. Falling in love with Sarah changes his life. I couldn't help but root for him to show that he was worthy of being a Brother. John Matthew and Xhex also play a large part in this story. JM is injured while fighting. This injury may cost the Brotherhood one of their best fighters.

I absolutely loved this book. All of the stories worked and I was happy with the ending. On to the next book in the series... My rating: 5 Stars.
