A thoroughly enjoyable historical with a full-figured heroine, though it's not quite determined how much so; I guess it's up to the reader to envision it. Hugo was delicious enough to give me the good kind of shivers. I thought this story was well rounded; good character development with a charismatic main couple, a sympathetic plot, and a satisfying relationship progression. There's skilled writing here, too. I felt Lucinda's pain and insecurities and Hugo's commitment phobia and emotional vulnerability, which counters his large stature. If anything, maybe the plot moved just a little slowly, but not enough to be a major issue with me. I thought it was very good and believed it deserved a solid 4 stars.
