At 400 pages this windup to the Westcott saga (there's no more room left on the family tree chart) is awfully long. The central story is over 3/4 of the way through and the rest is family walkons, visits, wedding preparations, taking care of loose ends. The resolution of the few mystery elements is obvious from the beginning.
It is well written, as all Mary Balogh's books are, but I found myself skimming toward the end.
The last pages in the paperback are a preview of her next series, Ravenswood.
