After a horrible car accident which caused movie star Jude Jamison to be tried for murder, Jude moved to a small town in Ohio where he met May Price and got roped into her brothers money troubles. The loan shark beat the hell out of Tim and threatened both May and Jude. Jude, already half in love with May, offers his house and body as protection for May and her brother. The mystery concerning who the loan shark is and what connection he has to Jude is intense and fraught with danger.
This is the first book I've read by Lori Foster though I own quite a few. It was terrific. The mystery was suspenseful, the hero was spectacular and the heroine was a plus size with body image issues. It was wonderfully realistic and endearing.
